Fiberglass Cornice Fabrication and Installation in Queens
Fiberglass cornice sections from Foundry Roofing are cast in FRP to your building's original profile and installed after we remove the failing cornice. FRP is light on the parapet and will not rot or rust.
We work on multi-family, co-op, mixed-use and brownstone buildings across Queens.
Cast to the original profile
Each part of your cornice, recast in FRP
We take the profile off your cornice, or from photos where it is gone, and cast each part to match. See finished cornice matches on Queens buildings.

Swapping the cornice, step by step
-
Survey and measure
After a roof and parapet survey, we measure the cornice from the roof and the street.
-
Custom fabrication
FRP is laid up in molds taken off the old profile.
-
Removal
The failing sheet metal or wood cornice comes off in sections.
-
Anchoring
Stainless anchors fix each fiberglass section into the parapet or wall.
-
Sealing and finishing
Joints get sealed and the cornice is painted to the facade color.
Stopping the water behind the cornice
Old cornices fail from behind. Water gets in at open cap seams, the roof edge and parapet joints, rotting the blocking and rusting brackets.
Before the new cornice goes up, we flash its cap into the roof and seal the parapet joint so no leak stays trapped behind it. In the same visit we replace any rotted blocking and fascia behind the cornice line and fix the gutter and roof edge that drain at the cornice.
Before you order a new cornice
How close is the match to the original detail?
Close enough to pass as original from the street, because every part is cast off your cornice.
Is fiberglass lighter, and can it rot or rust?
Far lighter than sheet metal, so the parapet carries less load. With no wood or steel inside, a fiberglass cornice cannot rot or rust.
Our facade inspection flagged the cornice. Can you replace it before filing?
Yes, if the report reaches us early. We schedule fabrication and installation around your filing date.
Can you replace only the damaged run?
Yes. New sections are cast to your profile and joined to the sound cornice.
